Handy base for 1 night. New-fashioned & spotless unit with books, the fireplace, as example. Wonderful food in the attached restaurant. Very good service overall and parking in the area.

The fine service we got from the couple that owns this hotel. Very simple but yet nice ambiance, takes you back in the 1920's by it's decor. Nothing too much, just enough. Very pleased and will returned for sure.
Hot tub, clean and nicely done. Service and nice people. Very well located. Perfect value for the price.

Checking in was easy and it was very private and quiet.
We couldn't find the hot tub they advertise and there was no breakfast bar in the morning.

Lake Placid is a nice place to visit esp. if they practicing on the ski jumps. White Face Mt. is a very nice visit and the town is also enjoyable. Hotel is convenient but does not have elevators- WIFI works poorly- has a nice sitting room and reasonable restuarant. Rooms and beds are nice as well as quiet.

The staff were knowledgeable and attentive throughout our stay. the hotel's prime location is historic, situated between two major events in town with the main shopping street just a short walk away. Plus, there was a restaurant conveniently attached nearby.

The Pines Inn has a beautiful sitting area inside. A wonderful porch to relax on and an exercise area that is completely different than any boring hotel has to offer. The staff is extremely welcoming and accommodating to all of our needs. Many of the rooms have views of the mountains. They have a restaurant inside. A fish fry on Fridays and an Oktoberfest on Saturdays. At least one staff spoke German. I can say that the menu seemed genuine. I didn't eat there but plan to next time. The prices were reasonable compared to the restaurants in town. It's a large Inn with a warm beautiful cozy feel to it. I would stay there again and again! P.S. My young adult children liked staying there too, something different.
